Young skier working his way up the ranks in Northern Hemisphere

    on February 28, 2023
CurraNZ fan Jarred Ferguson is a New Zealand representative in the Junior National Alpine Youth Team. Here, he shares his experience of racing for his country at the Swiss National Points ski races.
Jarred has been training and racing on CurraNZ for several seasons now and is a leading youth talent in the Slalom (SL) / Giant Slalom (GS) and Super G disciplines.
Jarred writes: 'I had my first Swiss National points slalom race in Andermatt only a day after arriving. I did not perform too badly and finished in 21st out of a field of 51 boys in the U14 category.
I have competed in nine races so far (mostly GS and SL over the weekends), the majority being the Swiss National Points races. I’m progressively improving, having finished in the top 20 in all races since my debut.
My best race was the ZSV Alpine Super G Champs, where I placed sixth out of a very competitive national field of 39 boys.
Being unseeded, it has been difficult racing the Swiss National Points races as I have had to start at the back of the field. I am slowly working my way up and now have 140 points.
continue to make the maximum gains and feel fresh from taking my CurraNZ supplements. Thank you CurraNZ for your continued support.'
