Women's USA Ultra Champion joins Team CurraNZ

    on November 07, 2024

We're excited to announce our latest addition to the CurraNZ USA team, Andrea Pomaranski, a World Championships 50km silver medal winner and three-time qualifier for the Olympic trials, who has overcome incredible setbacks to thrive in her running career.

Andrea's life story is filled with many 'comebacks', having been told at age 27 she had the bone-brittling disease, Osteoporosis, and would never run again.

Not only did she run again, Andrea became a US champion 11 years later, having been on the sidelines for nine of those years.

During her forced nine-year hiatus from running, Andrea focused on learning and living a lifestyle that would help combat her osteoporosis diagnosis.

Natural choices featured heavily in her approach to diet and one day, in the midst of 'mom-challenges', she felt the need to go for a run again.

Soon after, she checked in for a medical assessment and incredibly, was given the incredible news she had beaten the condition.

An All-American steeplechaser, Andrea has gravitated to marathons and ‘ultra’ distance events in recent years and is proving a force to be reckoned with.

After resuming running again, she quickly made her mark in 2022, finishing 10th in the Houston Marathon in 2:33:38 and second in the U.S. half-marathon Champs at Indianapolis in 1:13:12.

In 2023 Andrea was crowned the USATF 50km Champion (Road) and represented the USA in India at the 50K World Championships. The heat proved oppressive there and despite moving into first place with 7km to go, the fatigue caught her up and she finished a mere 44 seconds behind the winner to claim a sensational silver in a time of 3:19:07.

The demands of Andrea's running and racing caused her to look for something that would support her energy and recovery requirements and heard about CurraNZ when our ambassador Hayden Hawks posted about its benefits.

'While I am relatively new to this sport and still trying to figure out this world of ultra running, I’m happy with the improvements I have made in the last few months. One of the changes I made was adding curraNZ to my supplement routine, Since doing so, I’ve notice quicker recovery, more energy, far less mental fatigue from the rigors of training for such a long distance, as well as noticeable improvement in my GI distress during long runs and races. I can’t wait to keep using this product as I continue to learn, grow and keep chasing after these big dreams in this life changing sport of ultra marathoning.'

We are very excited to welcome this huge talent to Team CurraNZ, who has now qualified for the 2025 50K World Championships.
