Exciting news! Former professional cyclist turned ultra runner, Christian Meier, has joined the CurraNZ ranks.
With an impressive background in professional cycling on the European tour, the Canadian has transitioned into the world of 'ultra' and his star is on the rise again – with the help of CurraNZ.
In under two years from switching to ultra-marathons, the Girona-based athlete won the 150km TDS (Sur les Traces des Ducs de Savoie) on his UTMB debut last year.
Christian incorporated CurraNZ into his nutrition regime mid-year, in the build-up to UTMB.
He says: "During big training blocks CurraNZ takes the edge off, allowing me to feel more recovered and ready for another day of training.”
Christian’s illustrious career as a professional cyclist spanned over a decade, during which he competed at the highest level of the sport and became a national road racing champion in Canada.
Riding for various World Tour teams, including the esteemed Australian outfit GreenEdge, Meier participated in all three Grand Tours— the Tour de France, Giro d'Italia, and Vuelta a España— showcasing his versatility and endurance as a cyclist.
Christian's race calendar for this year will kick off in anger next month at the Ultra Trail Snowdonia, followed by Ultra Trail Verbier in July, and UTMB late August.
As Christian continues to pursue his passion for ultra running, fueled by CurraNZ, we look forward to witnessing his continued success and celebrating his future accomplishments on the trails and beyond.
