CurraNZ to Support Sir Kevin Sinfield’s 7 in 7: The Grand Finale

    on September 08, 2026

CurraNZ is proud to support Sir Kevin Sinfield as he prepares for 7 in 7: The Grand Finale - his seventh and final annual fundraising challenge for the MND community.

This September and October, Kevin and his team will complete an ultra-marathon every day for seven consecutive days, travelling across the north of England before finishing at Old Trafford ahead of the Betfred Super League Grand Final.

It is an exceptional physical undertaking with an even more important purpose: raising awareness and vital funds for people and families affected by motor neurone disease.

Seven ultra-marathons. Seven days. One final mission.

Starting on Sunday 27 September, Sir Kevin will begin at Sewell Group Craven Park, home of Hull KR, before visiting the home grounds of all 12 English Betfred Super League clubs. The team will complete the final leg on Saturday 3 October, arriving at Old Trafford ahead of the Grand Final.

The challenge is structured in demanding 7km blocks. Each block must be completed within the hour before Kevin moves on to the next one - a relentless format that calls for careful pacing, disciplined fuelling, recovery planning and the ability to keep moving through accumulated fatigue.

Alongside the daily distance, the “Extra Mile” events will return. Each day, Kevin and the team will be joined by people affected by MND to complete a mile together, bringing the MND community into the heart of the challenge.

The route will take in some of rugby league’s most recognisable grounds and communities:

    • Day 1, 27 September: Hull KR to Shiptonthorpe, including Hull FC.

    • Day 2, 28 September: Shiptonthorpe to Bishopthorpe in York.

    • Day 3, 29 September: York to Wakefield, travelling near Rob Burrow’s home and visiting Castleford Tigers.

    • Day 4, 30 September: Wakefield to Huddersfield via AMT Headingley, Bradford and Huddersfield.

    • Day 5, 1 October: Huddersfield to Salford, crossing the Pennines and travelling through Oldham.

    • Day 6, 2 October: Salford to St Helens via Leigh Leopards and Wigan Warriors.

    • Day 7, 3 October: St Helens to Old Trafford via Warrington Wolves.

    A legacy of action

Since the first annual fundraising challenge in 2020, Kevin Sinfield and his team have raised more than £11 million for the MND community. This year’s fundraising will again support six charities: the MND Association, Leeds Hospitals Charity, My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, Darby Rimmer Foundation, MND Scotland and the Irish MND Association.

    Supporting exceptional endurance

CurraNZ will again support Kevin and his team with our award-winning New Zealand blackcurrant extract as they prepare for and complete this seven-day endurance mission.

At CurraNZ, we recognise that extraordinary challenges are not defined by one product or one intervention. They are built on months of preparation, appropriate training, careful fuelling, hydration, sleep, logistics, medical support and a committed team.

Our role is simply to support Kevin’s preparation and execution with a product he can choose to incorporate alongside those fundamentals.

CurraNZ has become a trusted choice among endurance athletes looking for a science-led New Zealand blackcurrant extract to support demanding training and racing routines. Its product-specific research programme spans exercise performance, recovery, vascular responses and physiological responses to strenuous exercise. As with every athlete, individual use should be tested in training and fitted around the person’s overall nutrition and event plan.

Continuing a commitment to charity challenges

Supporting Sir Kevin’s Grand Finale continues CurraNZ’s involvement in endurance-led fundraising. We have previously supported BBC Children in Need challenges involving Greg James, Jill Scott and Jamie Laing -  people who have taken on extraordinary physical challenges to create attention and raise funds for causes that matter.

We are honoured to stand behind Kevin’s latest mission and the wider 7 in 7 team. The scale of this final challenge is immense, but its purpose is clear: bring people together, keep the conversation around MND moving forward and generate further support for the charities working alongside the MND community.
