CurraNZ in the saddle with Greg James for 1,000km Comic Relief charity ride

    on February 19, 2026

Greg James is about to take on one of the wildest charity rides the UK has ever seen – and CurraNZ will be with him for every brutal kilometre.

Greg’s “Longest Ride” for Red Nose Day

BBC Radio 1 Breakfast host Greg James is stepping out of “challenge retirement” to attempt an eight‑day, 1,000km tandem ride from the south coast of England to Edinburgh for Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day.

He’ll be in the saddle for around eight hours a day, mostly riding solo on a two‑seater bike, with different guests and Radio 1 colleagues dropping in to share sections of the journey and keep the nation tuned in along the way.

Once again, CurraNZ has been called up to support him in his lead‑up training and throughout the challenge itself, as the go‑to product for truly gruelling endurance efforts. He’ll be dosing on up to six capsules a day as he grinds through the miles. We helped Jamie Laing power through his run from Manchester to London last year, and now Greg will be deploying our signature “purple power” for this year’s epic test.

    Why this challenge matters

Greg has already raised huge sums in previous multi‑day endurance feats, from back‑to‑back triathlons to riding and climbing the UK’s highest peaks, and this year’s ride raises money for projects supporting people who are struggling in the UK and around the world.

He has dedicated the challenge to anyone who feels like they’re “carrying life’s load on their own”, turning every tough mile into a show of solidarity with people facing hardship.

    CurraNZ on the tandem

For a week of long days, minimal downtime and relentless pedalling, smart preparation becomes non‑negotiable. This is where CurraNZ will help along the way.

As Greg tackles this journey, CurraNZ will be part of the support system behind the scenes – another small cog helping keep the wheels turning as the effort and fatigue stack up day after day.

This is exactly the kind of demanding, back‑to‑back endurance effort that sits at the heart of what we do as a brand: helping athletes, adventurers and everyday people push through big challenges and wake up ready to go again.

    Join us on the ride

Radio 1 will be broadcasting updates as Greg rides from Weymouth to Edinburgh, with listeners and supporters able to follow the highs, lows, weather tantrums and roadside chaos in real time.

If you’re listening in, cheering from the roadside or following online, keep an eye out for CurraNZ along the way – and, most importantly, if you’re able, consider supporting Greg’s efforts for Comic Relief and the communities this challenge is designed to help.
