THIS week, Dr Rupy Aujla promoted blackcurrants as THE superfruit to consume to lead a healthier life.
The NHS doctor and specialist in nutritional medicine highlighted their nutritional qualities on the BBC’s This Morning program.
The Sunday Times best-selling author is a guest on the show and introduces new foods to viewers every week with high nutritional value.
This week he and his co-presenters challenged viewers to find ways of getting blackcurrants into their diet.
Dr Rupy said: “Diversity is key because your gut microbes are fantastic for inflammation control and general immunity.
“Blackcurrants are really nutrient dense and contain anthocyanins, which are important phenolics, so get them into smoothies and porridges, get them onto your list as part of a colourful diet.”
